The panel on Fox News’ “Hannity” Monday night exploded into a heated debate over Dr. Ben Carson and his comments about gay marriage. To say things got heated between panelists would be an understatement.
Carson’s critics have accused him of comparing “gay relationships with pedophilia and bestiality,”a charge he has denied. He also recently apologized to anyone who was offended by his remarks, saying obviously they are not the same thing.
Host Sean Hannity invited radio host and attorney Leo Terrell and Niger Innis, national spokesperson for the Congress of Racial Equality to discuss whether Carson is being personally attacked because he is a black conservative.
Hannity argued that ever since Carson gave his well-received speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, the left has been vilifying and attacking him for speaking out.
“If you’re an African-American and you’re a conservative, you’re vilified,” he added. “That is the ongoing epidemic that goes on. There’s no freedom of speech for African-American conservatives in America.”
Terrell disagreed — with a vengeance. He lectured Dr. Carson about speaking out about politics, saying “you’re a doctor, not a politician.”
“And you’re a lawyer, you’re not a talk show host,” Hannity shot back.
Terrell went on to call Carson a “monster,” one that he accused Hannity of creating.”This guy is a monster!” he yelled, later advising Carson to “stay in the hospital.”
Hannity used Terrell’s rant as proof that black conservatives aren’t allowed to speak freely without being attacked by the left in America.
Innis finally chimed in, calling Carson a “hero” and said America needs more Ben Carsons to speak up.
“Leo Terrell, you should be ashamed of promoting censorship,” Innis said.
“No you should be ashamed of yourself!” Terrell snarked.
After repeatedly claiming that Carson “put his foot in his mouth” with his comments on gay marriage, Hannity finally asked Terrell if he had ever made any comments he later regretted.
His answer? “Absolutely not.”
“I know what I’m talking about. I’m a lawyer, I’m a community activist. I know what I’m doing. I have the credentials,” he added.
That Terrell guy sounds like a tool…which must be why he fits in so well with the leftists.
One nice thing, though, he pointed out a very good thing about progressive liberal thinking: If you have the ‘credentials’, if you have the proper degrees in the currently popular field, if you paid attention just enough to regurgitate out whatever is needed to pass the tests of whatever school you attended, you don’t have to remain in reality or make valid constructive points. As long as you have ‘credentials’, you are part of the worshiped “intellectual elite’ and can therefore spew out whatever lies, smears and false accusations you want without pause or repercussion because you “have the credentials”.
